River Levels
Safe river levels for boating & current water level conditions and forecasts.
River gauges measure water level and water flow. This information can be used to determine the safety and comfort level of paddling at a given time. The hydrological predictive resources provide current and projected water levels for up to three days based on predicted weather conditions.
The information below presents different sites along the Chemung River, the recommended levels for paddling, and the real-time river level for that site. Please refresh the page to see the latest live river level data. The USGS updates these charts hourly. Remember, though, that all rivers in the Chemung Basin are subject to rapid fluctuations and can rise or fall several feet in a matter of hours.
